What is it about a guitar that makes our eyes glaze over and imaginations run rampant? Think for a minute about the first guitarist you ever saw. I’m sure for a few seconds (perhaps even longer) you envisioned yourself holding that guitar and rocking out (personally, I believe this happened to me when I figured out who Guns ‘N’ Roses were…and how hard Slash could rock).

For Mikayla, the story goes the same way (although we’ll replace Guns ‘N’ Roses with Hannah Montana). A year ago or so Juli and I bought Mikayla a guitar because she so badly wanted to learn how to play and become a rock star, like her newly found favorite TV show star. She started lessons a couple weeks back and has been practicing at home (with Juli’s help). And although she’s just starting, I know she’s getting better and we have a rock star in the making.
