Julian Cheesin'Julian used the potty chair for the first time today. After a small whimper and plea for help, Julian and Juli ran straight for the bathroom. He sat up on the big potty chair like a big boy and Juli read books. Kennedi was there for moral support and to help keep company.

A little confused by what all the excitement was about, Julian kept looking into the toilet in anticipation for the big event. After several minutes of reading and talking, he finally went peeps and poops in the potty chair.

After several minutes of being praised and glorified, Julian strutted out of the bathroom with a large grin on his face. For his work, he received a sweet potty chart and a sticker to keep him motivated.

In true fashion, Mikayla has completed her vision therapy sessions with great success and has taken control of her convergence excess.

Taking just under three months to complete, Mikayla exercised her eyes 7 days a week for 15-20 minutes at a time (sometimes longer). With exercises varying from reading fine print and phone numbers to playing computer games while wearing 3-D glasses and wearing a sweet pirate patch, she has managed to take back control of her vision.

In addition to completing her therapy, she also managed to completely impress everyone at Child & Family Optometry. All of her vision therapists (even Dr. Pirotte) were extremely impressed with Mikayla’s work ethic, attitude, skill and charm. From what I understand about her last appointment (this past Tuesday), all the therapists will be missing her smiling face and upbeat persona.

This past week marks Mikayla’s official first week of Striker’s soccer. Her team began practice on Monday evening, had it again on Thursday evening and will have practice again Sunday afternoon (tomorrow). From here out they will be practicing twice a week. There games begin in next weekend and will again be at the SCSA Southlakes fields. Her schedule is below:

  • 3/14 – 3pm – #11C
  • 3/21 – 12pm – #13B
  • 3/28 – 10:30am – #13B
  • 3/29 – 4pm – #9C
  • 4/11 – 4:30pm – #13B
  • 4/18 – 12pm – #13B
  • 4/19 – 1pm – #13B

See you on the sidelines.
